After a few weeks I reinforced the weak points by inserting CF spars and tubes from
Air Dynamics (aka NY Blimp, aka Gabriel Baltaian)
into razor-sawed slots and screwdriver-drilled holes.
Often zero damage from vertical full-power dives and
countless cartwheel-landings.
Radio gear: Tower Hobbies' bundle of Hitec Flash 5X tx, Micro 555 rx, HS-85 servos.
Takes this kind of abuse well, though eventually I upgraded to HS-81 metal gear.
Powered by Radical RC
9-cell RRC-1000 mAh NiMH packs.
7.5 minutes at full throttle, 15 at half.
A geriatric PC's power supply feeds 12V to an FMA Supernova charger.
Out of a half dozen props as well as Multiplex's 7.2V Permax 400 motor,
nothing improved measurably on the stock motor and "Gunther Spoon" prop,
on the bench or in the air.
Decoration: stock checkerboard decals on wing bottom, nothing on top.
Makes orientation easy to see.
